Jane first learned about Mornington Green around the time it opened. When her son’s father passed away, her son chose to purchase a tree and have him laid to rest at Mornington Green.
He would not have wanted to be in a traditional cemetery, and the family wanted somewhere they could visit him without the crowded feeling of a cemetery.
For Jane, having a place where the family can come, sit with him and talk to him is very important. She feels proud that her son has somewhere peaceful to visit his dad and remembers Mornington Green as a beautiful and wonderful place to be together.

When Simon passed away in July, Mel knew exactly what he had wanted. Rather than a traditional cemetery monument, Simon wanted to be planted as a tree.
Throughout his life, Simon believed in being repurposed, so becoming a tree felt like the right choice for him. For Mel, being able to honour that wish made the decision much easier.
Knowing she could give Simon the end of life he wanted brought Mel a sense of peace. She finds comfort in knowing that, although he is no longer physically here, he has been repurposed into something that is still living.

After losing her son Corey, Wendy couldn’t imagine visiting him in a traditional cemetery with only a plaque in the ground.
Choosing a Living Legacy Tree gave her a different way to remember him. Knowing that Corey could continue through the tree, and that she could watch it grow, brought Wendy comfort during her grief.
Over the past 11 months, Mornington Green has become a special place for Wendy to spend time with Corey. She brings her chair, a book and a coffee, and simply sits beneath his tree.
For Wendy, it has become a peaceful place to remember her son while watching his tree continue to grow.

Nicole wanted to find somewhere peaceful and tranquil where she could celebrate her mum’s life in beautiful surroundings.
Sustainability was one of the most important things to her. She wanted to find a place that supported the planet and allowed her mum’s life to become part of something new.
When she found Mornington Green, it felt like the right place. She loved the idea of being able to transform her mum’s ashes into new life while also helping the planet.
For Nicole, the connection with her mum continues through the earth. When she comes to the garden and sits with her, she feels as though she can talk to her through the earth.
Being able to physically connect with her mum through the tree has made the experience even more meaningful for Nicole. The peaceful surroundings and the idea of her mum becoming part of a living tree are what made Mornington Green such a beautiful place to remember her.
