“A family tree for us all”
For Carlo, choosing a tree was about choosing something his family could share.
He chose a Morton Bay fig because it was big, bold and had enough branches to represent the many members of his family. With up to 12 people able to feed into the one tree, it felt like more than a memorial. It felt like a family tree.
Carlo wanted something outstanding, and the Morton Bay fig gave him that. But the tree itself was only part of the decision. Its position at Mornington Green, high on the hill and overlooking the gardens, made it feel even more special.
For Carlo, having a close family means wanting to stay together, and Mornington Green gave them a place to do that.
“It’s not just the type of tree, but the location, on the highest bit, with the biggest tree.”
To Carlo, Mornington Green is somewhere his family can return to, enjoy and remain connected. A final gesture that continues to give long after a life has ended.
